The Summit Reborn theme was prophecy! People really felt like the Summit is back. The feeling of a well orchestrated jam still with the freestyle funk + consciousness of Hip-Hop was Summit❣️

We strive to give the people unique experiences at Summit. Saturdays vibe catered to high-level talent and battles + the dope cipher that existed pretty much the entire event! But we’re not surprised because it’s Summit! Bringing back Color Wars crew battle after 10 years was risky but stakes is high and real crews know so shoutouts to all who got down! It was a 🎢 ride from start to finish! judging calls..well you know breakin is subjective lol. Poppers we owe you for next year. Funk Freaks curated the funk most excellently, but the patio really didn’t do y’all justice. Lets bring it back into one room next year, everybody all together, it just feels better more Hip-Hop. The United Hip-Hop Vanguard panel kicked everything off check it on YouTube, not to be missed when it comes to East Coast / West Coast differences, commonalities, what’s great about Hip-Hop from the past and what we need to do better in the future. Business economics and community.

Sunday at Grand Park was A gas! Yes the lineup was dope and thank you to the artists for that! LA showed up and showed out! On all levels, community skills business everyone was getting in where they fit in all together. Major love to the Writers for the wall skills❣️ Shoutouts to the kids and their teachers! They’re getting really dope. Big Ups Grand Wizzard Theodore, Skeme Richards, Mark Luv, DJ Battlecat, The Far Side, Gaslamp Killer, Psycho Les, DJKS360, Medusa. Shoutouts Ken Swift & Zulu Gremlin for bringing back the Bonnie & Clyde one of the fave battles. Overheard a lot of people saying LA needed this, we all needed this! We never went anywhere but at the same time we’re glad Summit is back! Thank you team for always showing n improving, to our sponsors, venues, artists and the beautiful hip-hop community in LA and beyond! God bless you all, give thanks to the Lord for He is great! See you next year at the Summit!

If your interested in doing more than practicing an element, we hope this stimulates interest in helping move the culture forward.

The panelist addresses these questions:
- How to stay vibrant in a field that is about youth culture, longevity, sustaining and maintaining presence
- What from the past would you consider valuable contributions to the culture and should move into the future?
- Mental health about trauma and effects of battle culture
- Bgirling and the impact of gender on the artform, and being accepted as a woman in the scene, the journey
- Creating community, leadership
- When does the line blur between business and culture..
- When did things change and become less about you and more about the WE
community building, activism
- Ego shift, when we mature, we have a cause/issue, given the torch
